Reunions
Come celebrate your family, your friends, your coworkers and create
fun memories for all at the Green River Inn. Call for special
discounts on summer weekends while they last. We can help coordinate
outdoor activities including hiking, biking, canoeing, tubing,
kayaking, golfing, flyfishing, horseback riding, scenic train rides,
visits to covered bridges, farms or orchards. We can also help
arrange visits to art galleries, museums, antique shops and summer
theaters. If the group prefers to stay local, we can offer the
beauty of Sandgate, the peaceful sounds of the Green River, outdoor
games including horseshoes, badminton, croquet and of course, a
Vermont country bonfire complete with smores under a spectacular

The Massachusetts Miata Car Club meets yearly at the Green River Inn for a weekend retreat.
Retreat for Women
Take the time to appreciate your uniqueness and strengths, imagine
the possibilities, rejoice in your potential and hopes, and know you
can do it! Look forward and aim high, let your power soar, empower
yourself to find direction and your sense of inner self. Join us as
we listen, write and laugh. This is a non-religious small group
retreat, especially designed for women, particularly those in the
midst of a life transition. Lead by an experienced women’s retreat
leader, the structure is lectures and group exercises in the
mornings. Afternoons are free to walk, meditate, journal and think.
The evening focuses on comfortable sharing, group activities and

Fly Fishing Guide and Instruction at the Green River Inn
Have you had the desire to learn how to cast a fly rod or to be
taught the basics of fly fishing but just never seemed to have the
time or the opportunity? Well, The Green River Inn can offer you
that opportunity with this Vermont retreat. Our instructor and guide Denis Rice, has been
introducing people to fly fishing for more than 25 years. Denis has
taught and coached at the high school level and been a partner at
the Bedford Sportsmen in Bedford Hills, New York. He has put together
a number of packages that should be able to fit into anyone's
weekend or vacation schedule. -Reservations are recommended but not
required. Fly Casting Instruction - You will be introduced to the 3
basic casts of flying : The session is one hour and the fee for one
person is $40. For groups of 2 to 4, the fee is $25 per person for a
one and half hour session. All equipment is supplied. Learning the
Basics of Fly Fishing for Trout - This 4 hour session will get you
on your way by introducing you to those basic essentials needed in
your quest to catch a trout on the fly. All equipment is supplied.
Fee for one person is $100, fee for two $75 each. A Full Day
Introduction for Trout - This 7 hour course is designed for the
novice angler who seeks both instruction and guide service. The fee
for this one day session is $175 for one angler and $125 each for
two anglers. Each angler must have a current fishing license and
supply their own waders or hip boots. All other equipment can be
provided. Guide Service - For the angler with some fly fishing
experience. Spend a morning, afternoon or early evening on the Green
River, Battenkill River, Furnace Brook or the Mettawee River. This
service is unique in that it can be designed around the anglers
vacation schedule or significant insect hatches. A 4 hour session is
$100 for one angler and $75 each for two, 8 hour session is $200 for
one angler and $125 each for two anglers. Each angler is responsible
for their own equipment as well as a current Vermont fishing
